New Delhi, July 15: The Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, emphasized that making the Amarnath Yatra accessible and hassle-free for pilgrims is the government’s top priority.
In a post on the social media platform X, Sinha shared details of his visit to the Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas in Jammu. He assessed the facilities and services available for the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, which has already seen over 300,000 devotees participating in just 12 days. He praised the efforts of the Jammu and Kashmir Police, Army, security forces, Shrine Board, and civil administration officials during a meeting, urging them to treat every pilgrim as a divine guest.
Sinha highlighted the importance of ensuring seamless registration, comfortable accommodation, and smooth travel arrangements for all devotees. He also stressed the need to showcase Jammu’s attractions, directing officials to organize tours of key spiritual and tourist sites in the Jammu Division while actively promoting local handicrafts and handloom products.
“Our goal is that when the pilgrims return home, they take with them a piece of Jammu in the form of beautiful local handmade items and unforgettable memories,” he stated. “Together, we are committed to making this year’s pilgrimage truly historic.”
In a separate post, Sinha expressed pride in Rajouri, noting that the district’s historic ‘Bhairav Yatra‘ has been officially included in India’s ‘National List of Intangible Cultural Heritage.’ He congratulated the Rajouri district administration and the Jammu and Kashmir culture department for making this dream a reality. This prestigious recognition will significantly aid in documenting, preserving, and celebrating the region’s rich spiritual and cultural roots.
He added that this national honor acknowledges the efforts of generations of devotees who have kept this tradition alive. The inclusion of ‘Bhairav Yatra’ in the national list will strengthen Rajouri’s unique cultural identity on a national level and open new avenues for research, cultural exchange, and sustainable heritage tourism.
