Enhanced Security Measures in Place for Navratri at Virars Jivdani Devi Temple

Virar, October 10 (Daily Kiran) : The Jivdani Devi Temple in Virar is gearing up for the upcoming Navratri festival, expecting a significant influx of devotees. The temple trust has implemented stringent security measures to ensure a safe and organized experience for visitors. More than 200 CCTV cameras have been installed, along with over 100 private security personnel, police forces, and around 200 NCC and NSS students from Viva College to assist with crowd management.

Pankaj Thakur, president of the Jivdani Devi Temple Trust, announced that the Navratri celebrations will take place from October 15 to 24. The extensive CCTV surveillance will be monitored by both the temple trust and local police, ensuring continuous oversight of the temple premises.

In addition to the security personnel, armed police will be stationed on Jivdani Hill, with 50 to 60 officers managing safety both on the hilltop and at the base. This coordinated effort aims to regulate the flow of devotees and minimize the risk of any disturbances or accidents.

The temple administration has also scheduled regular worship services during Navratri. Daily rituals will include an abhishek at 3:45 AM, the first aarti at 5:30 AM, the second aarti at noon, and the third aarti at 7:30 PM. Special arrangements have been made to facilitate a peaceful and smooth visit for devotees.

During the festival, free prasad will be distributed to devotees at the base of the hill for ten days. To protect against heat and sun exposure, shades have been installed at various locations, and ample drinking water will be available.

Devotees will have two options to reach the temple: they can either take the traditional steps or use the funicular railway service, which is designed for the convenience of the elderly, women, and other visitors.

The successful organization of the Navratri festival involves collaboration from the Vasai-Virar Municipal Corporation, police department, forest department, Viva College, and other religious organizations. The trust is working closely with all departments to enhance facilities for devotees.

Pankaj Thakur urged devotees to visit the temple with peace and reverence, avoiding any rush, and to cooperate with the administration and temple trust to maintain order. He expressed confidence that, with everyone’s support, the Navratri festival would be both successful and safe.
