New Delhi, October 11 (Daily Kiran) : The Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DSGMC) is set to lodge a formal complaint against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). This action follows allegations that they attempted to tarnish the reputation of Gurudwara Bangla Sahib. DSGMC President Harmeet Singh Kalka announced plans to approach the Delhi Police regarding the matter.
In a post on the social media platform X, Kalka stated, “This afternoon, we will file a formal complaint against Arvind Kejriwal and his associates at the DCP office on Parliament Street. They are accused of entering Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, making political slogans, causing a disturbance, and spreading misleading videos that defame the Guru house and its management.”
Kalka emphasized that Gurudwara Bangla Sahib is a timeless symbol of compassion and selfless service, open to all without discrimination.
Speaking to a news agency, Kalka expressed his disappointment over the politicization within the sacred space. He criticized AAP leaders for attempting to create a narrative suggesting that police had entered the Gurudwara. “This is very dirty politics,” he remarked. He assured that no police officer was allowed inside the premises during the incident.
Kalka also alleged that some protesters had attempted to demonstrate within the Gurudwara complex on Saturday but were removed. He noted that police officers who came to apprehend the protesters were also blocked from entering.
He clarified that the circulating videos of police officers were taken as they exited the area from Ashoka Road, and they did not enter the Langar Hall or the Darbar Hall. They merely passed by the Gurudwara.
