New Delhi, August 12: In preparation for Independence Day on August 15, New Delhi has been placed on high alert. To ensure no security lapses occur, the Delhi Police launched a major security operation late last night. From 11 PM to 2 AM, extensive patrolling and checks were conducted across various districts of the capital.
At Dwarka Mor, police officers conducted vigilant midnight patrols. They thoroughly inspected vehicles, checking both the interiors and exteriors of every passing car. Only those vehicles that passed the security checks were allowed to proceed, ensuring a safe and peaceful national celebration for all citizens.
Similarly, in Uttam Nagar, police teams executed a ground-level intensive checking operation at midnight. Every vehicle on the main roads was stopped for detailed inspections before being permitted to continue. This surveillance aims to maintain complete security and order throughout the city.
In the Seelampur area, the Delhi Police also carried out operations, monitoring suspicious vehicles and individuals. Officers were deployed at various locations as part of the security initiative.
In the Motinagar police station area of West Delhi, police set up checkpoints to inspect incoming and outgoing vehicles. Special attention was given to suspicious vehicles and individuals. Senior police officials, including DCP West Hareeshwar V. Swamy, were present to oversee the operation.
According to police officials, such operations will continue leading up to August 15 to reinforce security in the capital and prevent any suspicious activities. DCP West Hareeshwar V. Swamy stated that the Delhi Police Commissioner has issued directives for increased patrolling in the capital. In line with these instructions, a significant number of police personnel have been deployed on the streets for thorough checks. He emphasized that these measures are being taken in light of security concerns for Independence Day.
