New Delhi, August 12: Inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Har Ghar Tiranga‘ and ‘Developed India 2047’, Kuljeet Singh Chahal, Vice Chairman of the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), inaugurated an art exhibition at the Janpath Subway Art Gallery in Connaught Place.
In collaboration with the Nav Siddharth Art Group, NDMC organized the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga 2026 – Art Exhibition and Live Painting Workshop’ at the subway art gallery.
After lighting a lamp to inaugurate the exhibition, Chahal stated that this 10-day art exhibition, held in celebration of India’s 80th Independence Day, is inspired by Modi’s ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign.
He remarked, “The tricolor is not just our national flag; it symbolizes our collective pride, aspirations, and unity. Prime Minister Modi’s campaign has strengthened the emotional connection every citizen has with the flag. Through this exhibition, NDMC provides artists a platform to express their feelings through colors and creativity, reaching out to people in unique ways.”
Chahal emphasized that a developed India signifies not only economic progress but also cultural awareness, national pride, and public participation.
He noted that the exhibition features over 50 artworks by 10 prominent artists. The theme revolves around the colors of the tricolor, India’s cultural heritage, the freedom movement, unity, diversity, and patriotism.
Based on the theme ‘Art Expression Patriotism’, this exhibition offers audiences a unique artistic experience through the tricolor.
Chahal explained that through their paintings and creative expressions, artists convey emotions associated with the national flag and the spirit of a confident, vibrant, and united India.
He added that this initiative is part of NDMC’s ongoing efforts to promote art and culture in public spaces and make cultural activities accessible to the general public.
A highlight of the event is the ‘Live Painting Workshop’, where artists will create patriotic paintings using the colors of the flag: saffron, white, green, and the blue of the Ashoka Chakra. This presentation will be a powerful artistic expression of unity, freedom, and the collective spirit of India.
Chahal mentioned that this initiative has transformed a significant public space in Connaught Place into a vibrant cultural center, inspiring youth, families, art lovers, and tourists to participate in the tricolor celebration through creativity. While interacting with young artists, Chahal stated that they are the creative ambassadors of a developed and culturally rich India.
He urged students, young artists, and art enthusiasts to actively participate in such initiatives and use art as a medium to express their thoughts, feelings, and patriotism.
He also noted that such platforms connect youth with India’s heritage, values, and national spirit while identifying new talents.
Encouraging young artists aligns with the vision of ‘Developed India 2047’, promoting creativity, innovation, and cultural confidence.
Art and culture advisor Harsh Vardhan Sharma mentioned that NDMC had organized art exhibitions in the subway in 2023, which were later halted for various reasons.
Now, through the art and culture department, this tradition is being revived to provide opportunities for artists and make public spaces more vibrant and culturally appealing.
