
London, June 22: England has announced its 17-member squad for the T20 series against India, set to take place from July 1 to July 11. Harry Brook will lead the team, while left-arm spin all-rounder James Coles receives his first call-up to the T20 side.
The squad sees the return of Jordan Cox, Sonny Baker, and Saqib Mahmood, who missed the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup earlier this year. Fast bowler Brydon Carse and seam-bowling all-rounder Jamie Overton are unavailable due to injuries.
At just 22, James Coles was the most expensive player in the 2026 Men’s Hundred competition. He has played for Sunrisers Eastern Cape in the SA20 and the England Lions. In his T20 career, Coles has scored 1,373 runs in 71 innings at an average of 28.60, including seven half-centuries.
Coles made his first-class debut for Sussex at the age of 16 years and 157 days, becoming the youngest player to achieve this feat. He has also excelled with the ball, taking 53 wickets at an average of 26.94 and an economy rate of 8.27, including three instances of taking four wickets in a single innings.
The first match of the T20 series will be held at Riverside Ground on July 1, followed by the second match at Old Trafford on July 4. The third match is scheduled for July 7 at Trent Bridge, with the fourth match taking place at County Ground on July 9. The series will conclude with the final match at The Rose Bowl on July 11.
