ICC Rankings: Root and Henry Shine as Top Players in Tests, ODIs, and T20s

New Delhi, June 24: The latest rankings released by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Wednesday have seen significant movements among top players. England’s star batsman Joe Root, New Zealand’s fast bowler Matt Henry, and India’s captain Shubman Gill have all made notable gains.

In the ICC Test batting rankings, Joe Root has climbed to the top position after impressive performances against New Zealand, scoring 46 and 77 runs in the second Test. He has moved up two places, while Harry Brook has slipped to second and Travis Head has fallen to third. Australia’s Steve Smith ranks fourth, and Sri Lanka’s Kamindu Mendis is in fifth place.

Matt Henry, who played a crucial role in New Zealand’s victory over England at The Oval, has jumped six spots to reach the top of the Test bowling rankings. He shares this position with India’s Jasprit Bumrah, as both have equal points.

In the Test all-rounders category, India’s Ravindra Jadeja remains first, followed by England’s Marco Jansen in second, Bangladesh’s Mehidy Hasan Miraz in third, Australia’s Mitchell Starc in fourth, and England’s Ben Stokes in fifth.

Shubman Gill has also made strides in the ICC ODI batting rankings. After a stellar series against Afghanistan, he has risen three places to second. New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell holds the top spot, with India’s Virat Kohli in third, Rohit Sharma in fourth, and Afghanistan’s Ibrahim Zadran in fifth.

In the ODI bowling rankings, Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan is first, followed by Pakistan’s Abrar Ahmed in second, England’s Jofra Archer in third, South Africa’s Keshav Maharaj in fourth, and Sri Lanka’s Mahesh Tikshana in fifth.

For ODI all-rounders, Afghanistan’s Azmatullah Omarzai is in first place, Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza is second, Bangladesh’s Mehidy Hasan Miraz is third, Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi is fourth, and New Zealand’s Michael Bracewell is fifth.

In the T20 batting rankings, India’s Abhishek Sharma leads, with Ishan Kishan in second, Pakistan’s Sahibzada Farhan in third, England’s Phil Salt in fourth, and Sri Lanka’s Pathum Nissanka in fifth.

The T20 bowling rankings see Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan at the top, followed by India’s Varun Chakravarthy in second, Pakistan’s Abrar Ahmed in third, England’s Adil Rashid in fourth, and India’s Jasprit Bumrah in fifth.

In the T20 all-rounders list, Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza is first, India’s Hardik Pandya is second, Pakistan’s Saim Ayub is third, Nepal’s Dipendra Singh Airee is fourth, and West Indies’ Roston Chase is fifth.
