
Farrukhabad, March 19: An encounter took place in Farrukhabad district late Wednesday night between police and a robbery suspect. The accused sustained a gunshot wound to the leg, while a head constable was injured in the hand. The injured robber has been admitted to Lohia Hospital for treatment.
According to police reports, a woman was robbed of her earrings in the Kayamganj area on March 13, during which she also sustained injuries. A case was registered against Kuldeep, a resident of Kasganj, following the incident. Since the registration of the case, the suspect had been on the run.
Additional Superintendent of Police Arun Kumar Singh stated that the robbery suspect Kuldeep was apprehended and brought to the police station. When police took him to the location he indicated to recover the stolen earrings, he had hidden a .315 bore pistol. Attempting to flee, the suspect fired two rounds at the police, injuring Head Constable Ravindra Tiwari in the hand.
In response, police returned fire, hitting the suspect in the leg, causing him to fall. The police quickly arrested him at the scene and recovered the stolen earrings. Both the suspect and the injured constable were sent to the Community Health Center (CHC) for treatment, where the injured suspect was later referred to Lohia Hospital for further care.
In a related incident, the police team from Wave City in Ghaziabad also arrested a wanted robber following an encounter. The injured suspect was taken into custody and hospitalized. Police recovered a stolen motorcycle, a pistol, and two cartridges from the possession of the robber named Love, who had been involved in car and mobile thefts.
