He achieved this remarkable milestone during Inter Miami’s CONCACAF Champions Cup match against Nashville SC. Despite Messi’s historic goal, his team has been eliminated from the tournament.
Messi netted his 900th goal in the second leg of the Round of 16 at Geodis Park, finding the back of the net in the seventh minute. This goal marked his eighth in the CONCACAF Champions Cup, and he has also provided two assists for Inter Miami.
Now, Messi joins Cristiano Ronaldo as the only other footballer to score 900 or more goals. Ronaldo reached this milestone in September 2024 while playing for Portugal against Croatia.
