New Delhi, April 18: Following the failure of the Women’s Reservation Bill in the Lok Sabha, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation on Saturday. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath shared his thoughts on PM Modi’s speech via social media platform X.
Yogi expressed gratitude, stating, “In today’s address to the nation, Prime Minister Modi articulated the respect, rights, and aspirations of the country’s mothers, sisters, and daughters with deep sensitivity and conviction.”
He further emphasized, “The Prime Minister’s address is a renewed commitment to the self-respect of millions of women. It inspires us to recognize that women empowerment is not an option but a fundamental cornerstone of nation-building. We stand firmly with your resolve, and we are confident that under your successful leadership, this effort will surely succeed. The respect for women’s power is the vision, mission, and unwavering commitment of the double-engine government.”
Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya shared a video of PM Modi’s address, stating, “The halt of the Women Empowerment Act brutally crushes the dreams and aspirations of our sisters. I apologize to all mothers and sisters for our efforts not succeeding.”
Tejasvi Surya, National President of the BJP Youth Wing, also shared the video, asserting, “The Congress party is anti-reform. They obstruct every decisive step towards building a ‘Developed India 2047’ due to their negative, anti-development, and anti-progress mindset, showing they are unwilling to rise above.”
Earlier, PM Modi had stated, “Today, I came to speak to the mothers, sisters, and daughters of the nation. Every citizen of India is witnessing how the flight of women’s power has been halted. Their dreams have been brutally crushed. Despite our best efforts, the amendment to the Women Empowerment Act could not be achieved. For this, I seek forgiveness.”
