New Delhi, March 7: The two-day event “Nari Se Narayan” has commenced in the capital, coinciding with International Women’s Day on March 8. Delhi’s Chief Minister Gupta attended the event, sharing insights from her early life.
V. Shanta Kumari, the current head of the Rashtriya Sevika Samiti (RSS’s women’s wing), was also present. She emphasized the importance of women’s empowerment.
Kumari described women’s strength as a vital part of Sanatan and Hinduism, illustrating her point with a verse. She stated, “Rashtrasya Sudrida Shakti: Samajasya cha Dharini Bharate Sanskrita Nari, Mata Narayani Sada.” This means that women are the source of strength in India, fortifying the nation and nurturing society like a divine mother. While women in India are excelling in various fields, some still face challenges, often targeted using texts like Manusmriti.
She referenced the Varaha Purana, noting that it symbolizes women as a representation of strength, likening them to pure gold. Swami Vivekananda also recognized women as maternal power, portraying them as selfless individuals who live for others.
Kumari urged women to recognize their inner strength, asserting that they are not inferior but have historically outperformed men. This strength can be harnessed to uplift society and address personal challenges.
She highlighted the need to discuss various issues through dialogue while understanding the roots of India. Women should not confine themselves to domestic roles but contribute positively to society.
