Ahmedabad, September 11 (Daily Kiran) : Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar stated on September 11 that the Election Commission of India (ECI) is dedicated to ensuring that every citizen who has reached the age of 18 is registered to vote and exercises their right to participate in elections.
Kumar made these remarks during an event held at the Atal Kalam Hall in Gujarat University, which was attended by around 500 booth-level officers from various districts across the state. This event was part of Kumar’s two-day visit to Gujarat, focusing on the theme “Transparency from Roll to Poll.”
Following the event, Kumar expressed satisfaction with the dialogue held with booth-level officers. He emphasized that the ECI’s objective is to make sure that every citizen who turns 18 becomes a registered voter and actively participates in the electoral process.
“Regardless of religion, age, gender, or ability, every individual must join this campaign,” Kumar stated. He highlighted the involvement of nearly 1.1 million booth-level officers and over 1.5 million agents from various political parties in this initiative.
Kumar also urged citizens, particularly the youth, to download the ‘ECI Net’ app. By entering their voter ID number, users can resolve any issues they may encounter. The app features a ‘Book a Call with B.L.O.’ button, allowing users to connect with booth-level officers for assistance.
Reiterating his message, Kumar stressed the importance of ensuring that every citizen who has reached the age of 18 is included in the voter list.
