Chandigarh, October 3 (Daily Kiran) : The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has taken decisive action against Sukveer Singh Maisarkhana, the MLA from the Maur constituency, by suspending his primary membership with immediate effect. This decision comes in light of allegations regarding his involvement in activities deemed contrary to party discipline.
In the suspension notice issued by the party, it was stated that Maisarkhana had engaged in actions that undermined the party’s integrity. He has been accused of disseminating false information that could harm the party’s reputation. This suspension follows a Facebook Live session in which Maisarkhana raised concerns about the state of government schools and the availability of teachers in his constituency.
During the live broadcast, he claimed that his complaints regarding local issues were not being addressed. He also expressed frustration over not being able to secure a meeting with Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. Maisarkhana emphasized his commitment to continue advocating for the issues affecting his constituency.
His statements have sparked reactions within Punjab’s political landscape, with opposition leaders using his comments to criticize the AAP government regarding the conditions of government schools and the party leadership. In response, AAP has countered that the school mentioned by Maisarkhana already has 25 teachers on staff.
Sukveer Singh Maisarkhana was elected to the Punjab Assembly in 2022 on an AAP ticket. The suspension is based on claims of party opposition and disciplinary violations.
