Bengaluru, June 2: DK Shivakumar has expressed his gratitude to the Congress leadership and the Gandhi family ahead of his oath-taking ceremony as the Chief Minister of Karnataka. In a post on X, he referenced former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, stating that it is thanks to him that he has reached this point.
Shivakumar remarked, “The Gandhi family has played a crucial role in my political journey, not just through their leadership but also through the trust they placed in me at various stages of my life. I often remember Rajiv Gandhi, who recognized my potential as a young worker long before I did. His encouragement gave me the confidence to dream big and dedicate myself to public service. Great leaders are those who see potential in others and inspire them to exceed their own expectations. Rajiv Gandhi did exactly that for me.”
He further stated, “Sonia Gandhi taught me another vital lesson in leadership. True leaders stand by you not only in moments of success but also during your toughest times, providing strength, encouragement, and unwavering support. Her faith in me during challenging phases of my life will always be invaluable.”
Shivakumar noted, “Rahul Gandhi has been a continuous source of guidance and inspiration for me. His willingness to listen, his firm belief in democratic values, and his vision for a more inclusive and compassionate India constantly motivate leaders like me. His support in public life has been a strong pillar. Priyanka Gandhi has always been accessible, caring, and encouraging. I have always valued her guidance and encouragement.”
