New Delhi, July 1: On the occasion of the 11th anniversary of the Digital India initiative, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that this program serves as a strong foundation for a developed and self-reliant India. He emphasized that over the past 11 years, it has played a crucial role in empowering the underprivileged and simplifying the lives of citizens.
Prime Minister Modi shared several posts on the social media platform X regarding Digital India. In one post, he wrote, “Today marks 11 years since the launch of the Digital India initiative. This program has redefined governance, empowered citizens, and accelerated comprehensive development. It has impacted every aspect of life. From easy digital payments and direct benefit transfers (DBT) with transparency to the expansion of digital public infrastructure, technology has become a powerful means to enhance the ease of living.”
In his post, PM Modi further stated, “Digital India has spread a wave of innovation across every part of India, especially in villages and tier-2 and tier-3 cities. Young entrepreneurs, startups, and innovators from every corner of the country are developing solutions to the serious challenges facing our planet. This initiative has strengthened education, healthcare, agriculture, business, and public service delivery, making governance more transparent, efficient, and accessible.”
He added, “Our progress in the digital sector has ensured that India is rapidly advancing in AI, semiconductors, quantum computing, and other emerging technologies. This will open new avenues for growth and opportunities. Our focus will remain on building a future where technology serves humanity, empowers every citizen, and promotes sustainable development.”
In another post, PM Modi noted, “The success of Digital India over the past 11 years has given India a new identity on the global stage. It reflects the determination of our citizens to elevate the country to new heights through innovation and technology.”
He shared a Sanskrit quote, stating, “विज्ञानसारथिर्यस्तु मनःप्रग्रहवान्नरः. सोऽध्वनः पारमाप्नोति तद्विष्णोः परमं पदम्,” which translates to, “The person whose discerning intellect is alert like a scientific charioteer and whose mind is disciplined can overcome the complexities of life and reach the ultimate goal.”
PM Modi concluded with another post, asserting, “Digital India is a strong foundation for a developed and self-reliant India. Over the past 11 years, it has played a significant role in empowering the poor and marginalized while making life easier for citizens. From the expansion of optical fiber networks to digital transactions, the unprecedented success of this campaign has drawn global attention to India.”
