Dhirendra Krishna Shastri Celebrates Ganesh Festival in Mumbai, Wishes PM Modi on His Birthday

Mumbai, September 17 (Daily Kiran) : Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, the head of the Bageshwar Dham Peeth, visited Mumbai on September 17, 2026, to celebrate the Ganesh Festival. During his visit, he toured Kandivali and Bhiwandi, where he took blessings from Lord Ganesha and prayed for peace, prosperity, and unity among people in the country. He remarked that the entire state of Maharashtra is immersed in devotion to Ganesha at this time.

On the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, Shastri extended his heartfelt wishes, praising Modi’s contributions to public life. He stated, “Happy 76th birthday to the Prime Minister.” He linked Modi’s tenure to India’s progress, noting improvements in the country’s economy and financial system. Shastri prayed to Lord Bageshwar Balaji for the Prime Minister’s long and healthy life.

While visiting Bhiwandi, Shastri mentioned that Lord Ganesha has been worshipped there for the past 38 years, and he was grateful for the opportunity to seek blessings. He expressed his prayers for global well-being, unity among Hindus in India, world peace, and the nation’s development. Shastri also noted that there is an ashram of Bageshwar Dham in Bhiwandi, which he visits every two to three months. He highlighted the deep reverence people have for Ganesha during the festival.

Responding to a question about the Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s (VHP) appeal to restrict Muslim participation during Navratri, Shastri emphasized that every community should celebrate its own festivals. He described Navratri as a festival rooted in Sanatan tradition, pointing out that idol worship is not permitted in Islam, while Hindu customs include the worship of religious symbols during Durga Puja and Garba.

Shastri shared his belief in raising awareness through the knowledge and traditions imparted by his gurus. He aims not only to create disciples but also to inspire them to become gurus themselves. He concluded that when the people of India become gurus, the nation will emerge as a global leader.
