Mumbai, July 11: The head of the Dharma Sena, Santosh Dubey, has called for the immediate dissolution of the Ram Temple Trust amid allegations of embezzlement and irregularities concerning donations. He has demanded a CBI investigation into the matter and the filing of FIRs against those accused. Dubey supported former MP Brijbhushan Sharan Singh’s statement about not visiting the temple, suggesting it reflects deep emotional pain.
In an interview, Dubey expressed concerns regarding the trust’s current operations, stating that it has failed to maintain the faith of millions of devotees. He criticized the trust members for their lack of accountability and mentioned that the SIT formed after the theft incident has lost public trust. Dubey, who was the first to file a complaint, noted that his FIR was not registered despite naming individuals like Gopal Rao, Champat Rai, Anil Mishra, and Tinnu Yadav. Instead, the names were altered in subsequent filings, raising questions about the investigation’s integrity.
Dubey questioned the alleged resignations of trust members, asking why copies of these resignations have not been made public. He suggested that the claims are merely a tactic to mislead the public. Those whose resignations are being discussed still appear active within the trust, casting doubt on transparency. He claimed that the SIT is not functioning independently and that local police are unable to act freely due to pressure from influential figures. Dubey stated that police personnel have indicated that taking action against powerful individuals could jeopardize their jobs, which is why he continues to advocate for a CBI inquiry.
He believes that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath wishes to take action but is constrained by circumstances. Dubey urged the Chief Minister to intervene and ensure strict measures against the guilty parties. He proposed that the current trust be dissolved and replaced with a committee comprising the four Shankaracharyas and the families of martyrs from the Ram Janmabhoomi movement, which he believes would help curb corruption and irregularities.
Dubey also appealed to devotees across the country to visit Ayodhya for darshan of Ram Lalla. However, he advised against donations until the dispute is resolved, citing concerns over potential misuse of funds. He emphasized that faith in God should remain intact, but there is growing anxiety about the misuse of donations.
Emotional over Singh’s statement regarding the temple, Dubey remarked that it reflects the pain of those who have been part of the temple movement for years. He highlighted the significant roles played by figures like Singh and Vinay Katiyar in the movement and stressed the need to acknowledge their contributions. Dubey called for streets and memorials to honor the martyrs of the Ayodhya movement, questioning why those who contributed to the cause have not been prioritized.
Additionally, Dubey accused some trust officials of serious misconduct related to land purchases and temple assets, asserting that irregularities have occurred and a fair investigation is crucial. He vowed to continue his fight for justice in this matter.
