Delhis LG Sandhu Reviews Summer Action Plan at Integrated Command Center

New Delhi, April 28: Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor T.S. Sandhu visited the Integrated Command and Control Center (ICCC) at the NDMC headquarters on Tuesday to review the ‘Summer Action Plan’ and emphasized citizen-centric urban governance.

The Lieutenant Governor praised the ICCC, stating that this technology-driven model could be adopted by civic agencies across the country.

In a post on the social media platform ‘X’, he mentioned, “I visited the Integrated Command and Control Center (ICCC) to review the Summer Action Plan and ongoing measures to combat the heatwave.”

He added, “As the capital’s digital nerve center, the ICCC utilizes IoT-based systems to integrate services, from water management to environmental monitoring. This technology-enabled governance model has the potential to be replicated in urban local bodies across the nation to enhance the delivery of citizen services.”

He noted that as we move towards a ‘Developed India’, Delhi’s role remains pivotal, with New Delhi symbolizing that vision.

“While the technological capabilities are commendable, the real priority should be robust implementation on the ground to ensure the safety of vulnerable communities and frontline workers. We are committed to supporting and strengthening resilient, citizen-centric urban governance,” he stated.

Earlier, the Lieutenant Governor addressed the 102nd Foundation Day ceremony of Indraprastha College for Women, ‘Samanvay 2026’, highlighting the importance of women’s empowerment.

In a post on ‘X’, he said, “Reflecting on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, which emphasizes that humanity’s progress is incomplete without women’s empowerment, it is inspiring to see the students of this historic institution embracing a modern, knowledge-based era of women-led development.”

During the event, he encouraged students to strive for meaningful impact in society. “Your education prepares you to lead, and your confidence will pave the way for a ‘Developed Delhi’ and a ‘Developed India’.”

In another post, he shared his experience of an impromptu conversation with schoolgirls near his ‘Lok Nivas’ office. He wrote, “I stepped out from ‘Lok Nivas’ to enjoy some famous ‘Fateh ki Kachori’, but the real joy came from the spontaneous interaction with cheerful students and their parents returning home after school. The effortless energy and lovely smiles of Delhi’s children around St. Xavier’s School were truly refreshing. These candid moments remind us why we are committed to creating a vibrant and bright future for our capital.”
