Delhi Police Solves New Usmanpur Murder Case, Four Minors Detained

New Delhi, March 27: The Delhi Police have claimed to have solved the murder case of a 17-year-old minor in the New Usmanpur area. Four minors have been detained in connection with the case, and two knives used in the crime have also been recovered.

According to the Delhi Police, on March 25, they received information about a body near the DDA Park close to JP Hospital. Upon arrival, officers found a deceased young man, later identified as Zaid, aged 17. A forensic team examined the scene and collected evidence, and the body was sent for post-mortem.

Following the investigation, the police registered a case under various sections and began their inquiry. During the investigation, teams gathered evidence from different sources. Based on the clues, four minors aged between 15 and 17 were apprehended.

The Delhi Police reported that during interrogation, the accused confessed to the crime, revealing a prior enmity with the victim. Following their leads, the police recovered the two knives used in the murder. Currently, the police are engaged in further action.

In another success, the Delhi Police arrested a declared criminal in a kidnapping case from the Kapashera police station area. The accused, identified as 30-year-old Sumit alias Badal from Hisar, Haryana, was declared a proclaimed offender by the Dwarka Court on March 13.

During continuous questioning, it was discovered that Sumit had studied up to the 11th grade. He came into contact with Ajit alias Jeetu and his associates from his village, eventually getting involved in criminal activities. Lured by easy money, the accused plotted to kidnap a person from the Kapashera area.

The victim was kept locked in a moving car throughout the day, with a ransom of 600,000 rupees demanded from his family. During captivity, the victim was severely beaten when there was a delay in the ransom payment and was later thrown out of the moving vehicle. A case was registered regarding this incident, and all accused, including Sumit alias Badal, were arrested. However, after being released on bail in 2022, Sumit deliberately went into hiding to evade legal action.
