
New Delhi, March 27: The Delhi Police have successfully apprehended the notorious criminal Mahboob, also known as Dhauwa, in the Madhu Vihar area. The 45-year-old has been linked to multiple theft cases and has been on the run for an extended period. During the arrest, police recovered two stolen mobile phones from his possession. Mahboob has a history of several criminal offenses.
On March 3, a theft case was registered at the Madhu Vihar police station. During the incident, one accomplice named Masrool was caught red-handed with the vehicle used in the crime and the stolen mobile phones. However, Mahboob managed to escape the scene and had been evading capture since then.
To apprehend the fugitive, a dedicated team was formed under Inspector Arun Kumar (SHO Madhu Vihar) and supervised by ACP Tilak Chandra Bisht. The team, led by SI Bhupender, conducted continuous raids and surveillance at suspected locations in Allah Colony and Mandawali. Acting on a specific tip-off on March 24, the team successfully laid a trap and arrested Mahboob.
The police reported that Mahboob resides in Mandawali. He is illiterate and has a substance abuse problem. To conceal his criminal activities, he operates a biryani stall. Mahboob is recognized as a bad character by the Madhu Vihar police, and there are reports of his son being involved in criminal activities as well.
Notably, Mahboob is a habitual and cunning criminal, involved in a wide range of serious offenses, including murder, attempted murder, involuntary manslaughter, violations of the Arms Act, and offenses under the Gangster Act and National Security Act in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. He already has six cases registered against him.
