Ravi Kishan Reflects on the Glorious Journey of Bhojpuri Cinema

Mumbai, March 27: Actor Ravi Kishan has made a mark in various languages through cinema, but his journey began with Bhojpuri films. Recently, at an event, he expressed his deep connection to Bhojpuri culture and language.

In a video shared on his Instagram stories, he proudly spoke about Bhojpuri cinema while discussing his beginnings and achievements.

During the event, Ravi Kishan mentioned that, with the blessings of Mahadev, he contributed to laying the foundation of the Bhojpuri film industry in its third phase. He highlighted the transformation from a small beginning to a significant industry that now provides employment to thousands.

Kishan stated, “In the third phase, with Mahadev’s grace, we initiated the Bhojpuri industry. While it may not have become a massive industry, it has created numerous job opportunities.”

Reflecting on his career, he noted, “I have worked in a total of 750 films, of which 450 are Bhojpuri. Our popular Bhojpuri film ‘Kab Hoi Gawna Hamar’ has even won a national award, marking some significant achievements.”

The film, released in 2005 and directed by Anand D. Ghatraj, features Kishan in a lead role. It is celebrated for its compelling story and portrayal of traditional Bhojpuri culture, earning it a national award. Notably, it was one of the first films shot in Mauritius.

Kishan will soon be seen in the Netflix series ‘Mamla Legal Hai,’ a popular Hindi legal-comedy web series where he plays the lead role of lawyer VD Tyagi. The series is set against the backdrop of the Patparganj District Court in Delhi, showcasing the lawyer’s quirky methods and bizarre cases in a light-hearted comedic style, inspired by real-life events.
