
New Delhi, March 27: The Delhi Police have apprehended a professional criminal in the Mehrauli area of South Delhi. During the operation, illegal weapons were recovered from the suspect.
According to police reports, a tip-off indicated that the criminal, currently out on bail, was plotting to harm witnesses in ongoing cases against him. Recognizing the seriousness of the information, the Mehrauli police quickly formed a team to apprehend the suspect.
Under the supervision of the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) for Mehrauli, a special team was assembled, including Sub-Inspector Amit Kumar, Assistant Sub-Inspector Ravinder, Constable Vinod, and Constable Arjun. The team conducted a raid near Andheria Mod on MB Road. Upon seeing the police, the suspect attempted to flee but was swiftly captured.
During the search, a loaded country-made pistol was found in the suspect’s possession. Based on information obtained during questioning, the police also raided his residence in Chhattarpur, where four additional lethal weapons, including knives and small swords, were seized.
The arrested individual has been identified as Roshan, a known professional criminal with a history of serious offenses. He has multiple cases registered against him, including murder, attempted murder, robbery, and violations of the Arms Act. Police records indicate that he has been implicated in approximately nine cases across various police stations from 2012 to 2024.
Authorities stated that the arrest not only prevented potential crimes but also ensured the safety of the witnesses he intended to target. Interrogation of the suspect is ongoing, and investigations into his criminal network are being conducted.
Police officials revealed that they had been monitoring the suspect since his release on bail to prevent him from causing harm. His arrest was executed based on the intelligence received.
