Delhi Police Rescues Three Missing Girls from Haridwar

Haridwar, September 9 (Daily Kiran) : The Delhi Police successfully located three missing girls who disappeared from the Ganga Canal area in Haridwar. The girls were found safe in a hotel in the Paharganj area of the capital on Wednesday. Among them were two minors, aged 17 and 13.

A complaint regarding the girls’ disappearance led to the filing of an FIR under Section 140(3) of the Indian Penal Code at the Ganga Canal police station on September 8. This prompted the Haridwar police to inform the SHO of the Nabi Karim police station in Delhi. Given the seriousness of the situation, a special team was formed to locate the girls.

The team included Sub-Inspector Neeraj Rathi, Head Constable Jagsoran, Constable Amit, and Woman Constable Supriya. Using location information and other details from the Roorkee police, the team launched a large-scale search operation in the areas of Reservation Road and Paharganj. They showed the girls’ photographs to local residents and hotel staff while searching several hotels in the vicinity.

To track the girls’ potential location, police analyzed mobile tower data and IP-based information. This technical surveillance assisted the team in determining the correct area for their search.

During the operation, the three girls were found at Hotel KM International on Reservation Road in Paharganj and were safely recovered. Initial conversations revealed that the girls had left home due to family pressure regarding marriage. They expressed a desire to avoid marriage, seek job opportunities in Delhi, and earn their own money. After arriving in Delhi, they had stayed at a hotel in the Paharganj area.

Following necessary formalities, the girls were handed over to officials at the Ganga Canal police station for further legal action. The relevant authorities from Uttarakhand police are conducting additional investigations and legal proceedings.
