Delhi Police File FIR Over Fake Disability Certificates in Nursery Admissions

New Delhi, October 1 (Daily Kiran) : Authorities in New Delhi have taken action against fraudulent activities related to nursery admissions by filing an FIR concerning the submission of fake disability certificates. This incident pertains to the 2026-27 academic year and specifically involves children under the category of Children with Special Needs (CWSN).

The FIR was registered following a complaint received at a police station on September 17. The complaint called for an investigation into the authenticity of the disability certificates submitted alongside the admission documents.

During the preliminary investigation, the police verified the certificates and found them to be counterfeit. According to the FIR, these documents falsely claimed a 41 percent hearing impairment and were allegedly issued by a government hospital.

On September 24, the police filed the FIR under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including 318(2), 337, 340(2), and 61(2). The FIR notes that the exact date and time of the alleged incident remain unclear. Authorities are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the creation and submission of these fraudulent certificates, aiming to identify those involved.

In Delhi, private schools reserve seats for special needs children under the CWSN category during nursery admissions. It is alleged that some parents obtained fake certificates to exploit this reservation system for children with 41 percent hearing impairment.

The police are currently probing where these counterfeit certificates were produced, who was responsible for their creation, and whether an organized group is involved. The investigation is ongoing, with a thorough examination of the documents in question.
