
New Delhi, 30 December: Delhi Police from the Outer District conducted a major crackdown on organised crime and illegal gambling, arresting nine accused from various areas. Thousands of rupees in cash and gambling-related materials were seized during the operations. Five cases have been registered under the Delhi Public Gambling Act.
Police officials stated that under the direction of the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) of the Outer District, all field staff in police stations were instructed to remain vigilant and active, especially monitoring organised crime, illegal betting, and gambling activities. This vigilance led to the recent successful raids.
On 28 December, while on night patrol, Head Constables Prem and Yogesh of Raj Park police station received information about illegal gambling at Navariya Park in Mangolpuri. The police team immediately reached the spot. Upon seeing the police, suspects tried to flee, but two were caught on the spot. During the search, thousands of rupees in cash and gambling equipment were recovered. A case was registered under FIR number 699/2025, and both accused were arrested.
On the same day, during another operation, Head Constable Pramod and Constable Rajendra found several people involved in gambling near F-Block Park, close to a mosque. Two suspects were arrested after attempting to escape. Cash and gambling paraphernalia were seized. FIR number 911/2025 was filed in this case.
Also on 28 December, Head Constable Subhash and Constable Manjeet spotted gambling activity near a house in X-Block, Mangolpuri. Two accused were apprehended, and thousands of rupees along with gambling materials were confiscated. FIR number 910/2025 was registered.
During patrol in Vihar area, Head Constables Ravi Rathi and Deepak saw people gambling near Veer Bazaar Chowk. Two were arrested after trying to run away. Cash and gambling items were seized. FIR number 975/2025 was filed.
Earlier on 25 October, Head Constable Jitendra and Constable Ravinder were patrolling Balaji Road in Vikas Nagar when they caught one person engaged in gambling and arrested him. FIR number 834/2025 was registered in this case.
The arrested individuals include Chand Mohammad, Kishan, Sanjeet, Puran, Rakesh, Abhishek, Dharmendra, Kamal Kishore, and Bobby Singh. All are residents of Mangolpuri, Vikas Nagar, and Nihal Vihar areas of Delhi.
Police have seized thousands of rupees in cash, betting slips, betting tokens, and record books related to the illegal gambling activities.
