Delhi Police Arrests Three Sharpshooters and Two Arms Suppliers Linked to Notorious Gang

New Delhi, May 24: The Special Cell of the Delhi Police has apprehended three sharpshooters and two arms suppliers associated with the infamous gangster Kapil Sangwan, also known as the Nandu Gang. These individuals were allegedly plotting a major extortion operation in the capital. Authorities recovered three semi-automatic pistols, four live cartridges, and three mobile phones from the suspects.

According to the Special Cell, the arrested sharpshooters have been identified as Abhishek, Sahil, and Harshdeep, also known as Polu, all hailing from Amritsar, Punjab. The arms suppliers, identified as Karan, also known as Ankush, and Aman, are from Kaithal, Haryana.

The police revealed that the suspects were planning to fire upon a clinic located in the Chhawla area of Delhi to extort money, following orders from gangster Kapil Sangwan. However, due to the heavy crowd around the clinic, they aborted the operation and returned after conducting reconnaissance. The operation was led by Inspector Anuj Nautiyal and Inspector Chandan Kumar, who arrested Abhishek on March 20. Based on information obtained during questioning, the other accomplices and arms suppliers were also taken into custody.

Investigations have uncovered that Kapil Sangwan is orchestrating an extortion network from abroad. Weapons, ammunition, and motorcycles were arranged through his associates in Kaithal. Police stated that this operation thwarted a significant shooting plot in the capital.

Authorities indicated that Harshdeep, also known as Polu, was directly in contact with the Nandu Gang and had recruited Sahil and Abhishek for this operation. Meanwhile, Karan and Aman were responsible for delivering weapons in Delhi.

The Special Cell has also revealed that some of the suspects have criminal records. Sahil has multiple cases registered against him in Amritsar, while Harshdeep faces charges related to theft and other crimes. Karan has also been charged under the Arms Act in Haryana. The Delhi Police are now actively searching for the entire network of this gang and other individuals involved in the extortion racket. Further investigations are ongoing.
