New Delhi, September 8 (Daily Kiran) : Delhi’s Industry Minister, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, conducted a review on Tuesday of various plans and projects aimed at fostering pollution-free enterprises while focusing on job creation and economic development.
During the review, key initiatives were discussed that aim to strengthen Delhi’s industrial and startup ecosystem. The focus is on enhancing ease of doing business, boosting exports, supporting MSMEs and artisans, encouraging innovation, and ensuring faster delivery of government services.
Sirsa also assessed the progress of the proposed Delhi Industrial Policy for 2026–2036, which envisions the development of a future-ready, innovation-based, and sustainable industrial ecosystem. The proposed policy identifies several priority sectors, including frontier technologies, global capability centers, data centers, research and innovation services, healthcare and medical wellness, urban logistics, circular economy, industry-related skilling, MSME modernization, and green transition.
Additionally, the minister reviewed the proposed Delhi Startup Policy for 2026–2031, aimed at establishing Delhi as a leading hub for innovation and entrepreneurship. This policy focuses on sectors such as fintech, R&D, IT, artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep tech, frontier technologies, and precision manufacturing.
The meeting also included discussions on the proposed “Go-Delhi Foundation,” intended to serve as a key institute for startups, innovation, and commercialization under the Delhi government.
Sirsa evaluated initiatives related to a comprehensive industrial survey and the development of a unified industry registry, which proposes the use of digital and QR-code-based systems for better identification and governance of industrial complexes.
Attention was also given to export promotion, with plans for capacity-building workshops, training programs for exporters, and the preparation of a Delhi State Export Action Plan alongside district-specific plans.
While reviewing the progress of the Delhi Single Window System, Sirsa emphasized the need to simplify and digitize approval and clearance processes for businesses and investors. The redevelopment and integration of this system aim to make government processes more streamlined, transparent, and business-friendly.
