Delhi Government Suspends Seven Officials Over Procurement Irregularities

New Delhi, June 28: The Delhi government has taken decisive action by suspending seven officials and staff members from the Central Procurement Agency (CPA) due to serious irregularities. This decision was announced by the Chief Minister‘s Office (CMO) on the social media platform ‘X’ following directives from Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.

According to the CMO, immediate action was warranted after discovering significant administrative irregularities at the CPA’s store. As part of this measure, five pharmacists and two officials have been suspended with immediate effect.

The CMO emphasized that the Delhi government operates under a ‘zero tolerance’ policy regarding corruption and administrative misconduct. The government stated that any form of corruption or violation of rules will not be tolerated under any circumstances, and strict actions against the guilty will continue.

In its message, the government highlighted that ensuring transparency and accountability in the administrative system is among its top priorities. To this end, continuous monitoring of operations in government departments is underway, with immediate investigations and actions taken wherever irregularities are reported or indicated.

The Delhi government believes that this step will enhance accountability in public institutions and prevent the misuse of public resources. It asserts that strict actions will not only curb corruption but also strengthen accountability and discipline among government employees.

The CMO reiterated that every case of corruption or administrative misconduct will be thoroughly investigated, and exemplary actions will be taken against any officials or employees found guilty. The government has indicated that if similar irregularities arise in the future, prompt actions will be taken against the relevant officials without delay.
