New Delhi, August 31: The Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson, Praveen Shankar Kapoor, criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Sunday for its alleged double standards regarding drug sales in Delhi and Punjab.
Kapoor pointed out that while AAP leaders make baseless claims about drug sales in Delhi, they rarely address the severe drug abuse problem in Punjab, where they hold power.
He dismissed recent accusations by AAP MLA Kuldeep Kumar, who claimed that the Delhi Police was facilitating drug sales in the Kalyanpuri area of East Delhi, labeling it a mere publicity stunt.
Kapoor emphasized that drug sales are unacceptable, regardless of location, and urged the Delhi Police to take strict action on this serious issue. However, he insisted that AAP leaders should first focus on curbing drug sales on the streets of Punjab.
He suggested that instead of politicizing issues, AAP MLA Kuldeep Kumar should pay attention to the rampant drug sales occurring throughout Punjab during AAP’s governance.
Kapoor noted that if AAP legislators dedicated as much time to finding solutions as they do to making accusations, the situation in Kalyanpuri would be significantly better.
Earlier on Sunday, under the leadership of Delhi BJP President Harsh Malhotra, party workers listened to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s popular program ‘Mann Ki Baat’ at 6,339 locations across the city.
Malhotra, along with Shahdara District President Deepak Gaba, State Minister Sardar Gurmeet Singh Sura, BJP Media Co-Incharge Pradeep Bhandari, and Delhi BJP’s Chief Spokesperson Anil Gupta, attended the event in Saini Enclave with party workers and local residents.
BJP National Vice President Baijayant Jay Panda also participated in ‘Mann Ki Baat’ with local RWA members and BJP workers at the park shed in the government employee colony in Sadiq Nagar, Sector-3.
Present at the event were MLA Neeraj Basoya and Municipal Councillor Anita Basoya, along with a large number of local RWA members and BJP workers.
After the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program, Malhotra planted a sapling as part of the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative.
