Air India Flying Academy in Amravati Receives DGCA Approval to Boost Pilot Training

Air India Flying Academy in Amravati gains DGCA approval, enhancing pilot training capacity and supporting Indias aviation sector.

Amravati, October 30 (Daily Kiran) : Air India has secured approval from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) for its newly established Flying Academy at Belora Airport in Amravati, Maharashtra. This initiative is seen as a significant step towards enhancing pilot training capabilities in India and strengthening the aviation sector.

The Air India Flying Academy will be the first of its kind established by an Indian airline. It will operate a fleet of 31 single-engine and three twin-engine aircraft for pilot training purposes.

Spanning approximately 10 acres, the modern academy will feature digitally equipped classrooms, student accommodations, a digital operations center, and dedicated maintenance facilities. This setup aims to provide trainee pilots with world-class training facilities while adhering to the highest standards of safety and operational excellence.

Air India stated that the academy is part of its broader strategy to develop skilled human resources and infrastructure for the aviation sector in India. It will complement Air India’s existing training academy in Gurugram, which covers 600,000 square feet and is considered the largest aviation training center in South Asia.

The company believes that these investments will help meet the rapidly growing demand for pilots in India and contribute to the nation’s goal of becoming more self-reliant in the aviation industry. According to Air India, the new Flying Academy in Amravati will play a crucial role in preparing future pilots with top-tier training, thus supporting the expanding aviation landscape in the country.

On social media platform X, Air India expressed pride in receiving DGCA approval for the Flying Academy at Belora Airport, emphasizing its role as the first flying academy established by an Indian airline. With world-class training infrastructure and a fleet of 34 training aircraft, the academy is set to enhance India’s pilot training capacity and support the burgeoning aviation sector.
