New Delhi, August 23: The Indian women’s cricket team clinched the ODI World Cup in 2025, marking their first ICC title. Deepti Sharma, who was named Player of the Tournament, played a crucial role in this historic victory. Her remarkable performances with both bat and ball were instrumental in leading Team India to championship glory.
Born on August 24, 1997, in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, Deepti identifies herself as a devotee of Bajrangbali, embodying the spirit of a savior for the Indian team.
Deepti, who plays domestic cricket for Uttar Pradesh, is a left-handed batsman and a right-arm off-spin bowler. Since her debut for the Indian team in 2014, she has been one of the most reliable and match-winning players across all formats. During the World Cup held in India, Deepti scored 215 runs in nine matches, including three half-centuries. She also took 22 wickets, making her the tournament’s leading bowler.
