Bengaluru, May 29: Following Siddaramaiah’s resignation from the Chief Minister position, discussions are underway regarding D.K. Shivakumar, the President of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) and current Deputy Chief Minister, potentially stepping into the role. In a recent post on X, Shivakumar praised Siddaramaiah’s tenure and political journey, stating, “I am eager to advance this journey together for the people of Karnataka.”
Shivakumar emphasized, “God does not give blessings or curses. He only provides opportunities. What truly matters is how we utilize those opportunities. Siddaramaiah’s life is the best example of this philosophy. From a humble village in Mysuru to leading Karnataka as Chief Minister, his journey is a testament to perseverance, dedication, and unwavering commitment to social justice. I express my heartfelt gratitude and deep respect for his years of service and leadership to the people of Karnataka upon his resignation.”
He further noted, “The impact of various welfare schemes and development initiatives launched during his tenure will remain a significant chapter in Karnataka’s growth narrative. Over nearly five decades in public life, he has shaped our state’s political and social fabric through people-centric governance and inclusive leadership. Since I took over as KPCC President in 2020, Siddaramaiah has stood by me like a strong pillar. Together, we have worked shoulder to shoulder to strengthen the party and communicate its vision to the public.”
The KPCC President added, “Serving alongside him as Deputy Chief Minister and continuously learning from his experience, wisdom, and foresight has been a privilege. I am confident that his guidance will continue to inspire and strengthen us as we work for Karnataka’s progress and welfare in the coming years. As the saying goes, ‘If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.’ I am eager to advance this journey together for the people of Karnataka.”
