Mumbai, May 24: A significant controversy has erupted surrounding the blockbuster franchise ‘Don 3’. Director and producer Farhan Akhtar has lodged a complaint against lead actor Ranveer Singh with the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE).
Reports indicate that the makers are also preparing to seek compensation from Singh. The dispute began when news surfaced that Ranveer Singh had withdrawn from the film ‘Don 3’. However, there has been no official statement from Singh regarding this matter.
The ‘Don’ franchise is regarded as one of Bollywood’s most popular series, with Shah Rukh Khan starring in the first two installments. There was considerable excitement when it was announced that Ranveer Singh would take on the role of Don in ‘Don 3’. Now, with the news of his exit, the producers are upset and are considering legal action.
Farhan Akhtar has accused Ranveer Singh of abandoning the project in his complaint to FWICE. The federation has taken the matter seriously and has initiated an investigation.
In light of the situation’s seriousness, FWICE has released an official statement, confirming that they are looking into the entire issue. They also announced a press conference scheduled for May 25, where they will reveal their official decision regarding the controversy.
FWICE has informed the media that the press conference will take place on Monday, May 25, at 4:30 PM. The venue will be the FWICE office in Andheri (West), Mumbai. Key FWICE officials, including chief advisor Ashok Pandit, president B.N. Tiwari, and general secretary Ashok Dubey, have invited media personnel and members of the film industry to attend.
