Controversy Erupts Over Parth Pawars Flight with VSR Ventures Following Tragic Incident

Mumbai, April 29: A significant controversy has emerged following the flight of Parth Pawar, son of the late former Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, on a private jet operated by VSR Ventures. This incident occurred during his trip to Pune and has raised eyebrows due to VSR Ventures’ involvement in a tragic plane crash on January 28, which claimed the life of his father.

Parth’s flight on the VSR Ventures jet took place just hours after his cousin, Rohit Pawar, an NCP MLA, held a press conference accusing the charter company of serious safety violations.

In response to the backlash, Parth Pawar issued a clarification, stating that the booking was an administrative error. He emphasized that he is taking the matter seriously and is immediately terminating the agreement with the agent who arranged the flight.

He explained on X that he instructed his office to arrange a flight to meet Sharad Pawar in Pune’s Modi Bagh. Due to last-minute arrangements, he was unaware that the flight was with VSR Aviation until he arrived at the airport. He reiterated that this was merely an administrative oversight and has taken steps to ensure such mistakes do not happen in the future.

Parth also instructed his staff and colleagues to exercise greater caution moving forward. He maintains his previous stance against VSR Aviation, asserting that the controversy surrounding his flight is unfounded, misleading, and unfortunate. He believes it is inappropriate to politicize the situation without understanding the facts.

Earlier, Rohit Pawar criticized VSR Ventures, claiming that visibility at Baramati Airport on the day of the accident was allegedly below the required 3 kilometers. He alleged that despite warnings from Chief Pilot Captain Sumit Kapoor, the company pressured the crew to take off. He also mentioned another incident involving a VSR jet on April 25, 2026, which failed to take off due to a flap malfunction.

Rohit Pawar highlighted a troubling pattern of operating “dilapidated and dangerous” aircraft. He pointed out a significant increase in payments made by the government to aviation companies during the fiscal year 2025-26, totaling over ₹210 crores. Notably, he emphasized that VSR Ventures received ₹145 crores just three days after the tragic accident.
