Congresss Free Schemes Wont Secure Power in Karnataka, Says Sanjay Nirupam

Mumbai, June 5: Sanjay Nirupam, spokesperson for Shiv Sena, has criticized the new Chief Minister of Karnataka. He pointed out that elections are set to occur in 18 months, and a new CM has just taken the oath of office.

In a conversation, Nirupam stated, “Karnataka will hold assembly elections in about 18 months. The electoral impact of decisions made by the newly appointed Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar is already evident. Immediately after taking the oath, he announced free bus passes for students.”

Nirupam predicted that numerous free schemes would be launched in Karnataka over the next 18 months, as Shivakumar aims to attract more voters. However, he firmly asserted, “I am stating today that Congress will not return to power in Karnataka.”

He congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi for breaking the record for the longest tenure as Prime Minister in the country. “Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was the only Prime Minister who served continuously for 12 years. Until now, no one has broken that record,” he noted.

Nirupam added, “It is a matter of pride and honor that our Prime Minister Narendra Modi has surpassed this milestone set by Nehru. This is the result of his tireless efforts and direct connection with the public. That is why the people have elected his government for the third consecutive time.”

Regarding the division within the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the growing discontent within the party, Nirupam remarked that TMC is continuously fracturing. Leaders are distancing themselves from Mamata Banerjee one by one. He specifically mentioned Kolkata’s Mayor Firhad Hakim, who was considered the second-in-command in TMC after Banerjee.

He explained that there has been a long-standing conflict between Firhad Hakim and Abhishek Banerjee. Now, Hakim is leaving TMC and forming a new team against Mamata Banerjee. This development highlights the ongoing weakening of TMC’s organization and internal strife.
