Congress President Kharges Controversial Remarks Targeting PM Modi as Terrorist

Chennai, April 21: Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge made headlines during a press briefing in Chennai on Tuesday, where he launched a sharp attack on the BJP, specifically targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi. His statements crossed the line of decorum, prompting backlash from various quarters.

During the briefing, Kharge stated, “How can they (AIADMK) associate with PM Modi? He is a terrorist and does not believe in equality. His party does not uphold the values of equality and justice. Aligning with such individuals undermines democracy.”

Kharge criticized the BJP’s policies, alleging that the central government is exacerbating inequality in society and weakening constitutional values. He reaffirmed that the Congress alliance with DMK will remain strong moving forward.

He expressed confidence that this partnership is committed to advancing welfare schemes, inclusive development, quality education, and accessible healthcare services in the state.

Continuing with his controversial remarks, Kharge emphasized that as Prime Minister, Modi should be aware of what to say and what not to, especially during elections, as it directly impacts the electoral process. He accused Modi of misusing his power and government machinery to defame opposition parties, targeting individuals whenever possible.

Kharge urged the Election Commission to take note of these issues but criticized it for failing to act. He suggested that the Commission appears to be under Modi’s influence. He warned that if this trend continues, Indian democracy will weaken, and the public will not receive justice.
