Piyush Goyal Condemns Congress Leaders Terrorist Remark Against PM Modi

New Delhi, April 21: Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge sparked controversy on Tuesday during a press conference in Chennai by referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a “terrorist.” Following backlash, he attempted to clarify his statement. In response, BJP leaders have condemned Kharge’s remarks as an insult to 1.4 billion Indians.

Union Minister Piyush Goyal expressed his dismay in a post on ‘X’, stating, “I am ashamed that Congress and DMK have sunk so low as to insult a democratically elected Prime Minister of India by calling him a ‘terrorist.'”

He further asserted that Rahul Gandhi and MK Stalin should apologize to the Prime Minister and to the people of India who voted him into power. Goyal emphasized that Congress and DMK’s statements have disrespected 1.4 billion Indians, including 80 million Tamil brothers and sisters. This unholy alliance, he claimed, is effectively labeling Indians as terrorists by targeting the Prime Minister.

Goyal added that personal attacks on the Prime Minister will not alter his electoral prospects, which are already determined by the anger of those who have endured their misgovernance.

BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra also weighed in, stating that calling the Prime Minister a terrorist is not a mistake. He suggested that if Kharge is attempting to clarify his statement, it is a deliberate conspiracy by Congress. Patra noted that Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, have been making derogatory remarks about PM Modi.

He criticized Rahul Gandhi for using abusive language in his speeches, highlighting that it reached a new low when Kharge echoed the term “terrorist.” Patra pointed out that this is the same party that refers to Osama bin Laden as “Osama Ji” and associates with known terrorists while labeling PM Modi a terrorist.
