Congress MP Rajeev Shukla Emphasizes Security and Development After Meeting Military Officials

Srinagar, June 23: Congress MP and member of the Parliamentary Standing Committee, Rajeev Shukla, discussed the objectives of a parliamentary study visit to Jammu and Kashmir. In a conversation with reporters on Tuesday, he stated that the aim of engaging with top military officials was to assess strategic developments, particularly focusing on India’s bilateral relations with China, and to review the situation along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Eastern Ladakh.

Rajeev Shukla noted that the discussions with military officials were highly constructive. They covered various topics, aiming to understand how border security is being maintained. Additionally, they discussed future steps to enhance security and emphasized the importance of building public trust.

Shukla also addressed the need for continuous development, asserting that development initiatives should always consider the interests of the people.

Moreover, he expressed concerns regarding the ongoing tensions in West Asia. He stated that these tensions have global repercussions and stressed the urgency of finding a resolution. According to him, a swift resolution would greatly benefit the general populace.

He highlighted that the unrest in West Asia is causing an energy and oil crisis, leading to various challenges for ordinary citizens. Therefore, he reiterated the need for a prompt solution to the tensions in that region.

On the topic of the Strait of Hormuz, he mentioned that reopening it would be advantageous. Historically, around 400-500 vessels used to pass through, ensuring energy supply, but currently, the numbers have significantly dwindled. Reopening Hormuz would alleviate the energy crisis.
