New Delhi, July 15: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann stated on Tuesday that the state provides numerous opportunities in the textile value chain, creating a transparent and industry-friendly environment for entrepreneurs.
While inaugurating the Punjab Pavilion at ‘India-Text 2026’ and addressing the Punjab session, CM Mann announced that the government has launched a new ‘Industrial and Business Development Policy’ aimed at boosting investment, employment, and exports. He emphasized that approvals will be ensured within stipulated timeframes through the ‘Single Window’ and ‘Single Pen’ systems.
In the past four years, Punjab has attracted investments worth ₹2 lakh crore and generated five lakh job opportunities. CM Mann noted that the government views entrepreneurs as partners in the state’s development, eliminating bureaucratic hurdles through the ‘Red Card System’. He is committed to making Punjab the preferred destination for advanced textile manufacturing and industrial investment.
He remarked, “Previous state governments treated industrialists like ATMs, but the ‘Aam Aadmi’ government has made them equal partners in the state’s socio-economic progress. Punjabis are blessed with hard work, dedication, and an unwavering spirit of patriotism. These qualities have enabled Punjabis to excel in every field. The sole purpose of reminding these facts is to educate our youth about the state’s rich and prosperous cultural and historical heritage.”
Reiterating that industrial development can only be achieved through close cooperation between the government and industry, CM Mann stated, “I firmly believe that the industrial sector can only thrive when the government and industry work hand in hand. Therefore, investors and entrepreneurs are the key creators of Punjab’s industrial future. Punjab’s robust investment ecosystem offers competitive electricity rates, land facilities, and a welcoming environment for investors.”
Welcoming the representatives at the session, the Chief Minister said, “India-Text is not just an exhibition of products; it is a platform where the future of India’s textiles is being envisioned, partnerships are being formed, and new opportunities are taking shape.”
He added, “Punjab is participating as a partner state because textiles are not just an industry for the state; they are part of its identity, heritage, and economic strength. For generations, Punjab has woven not only fabrics but also the fabric of livelihoods, entrepreneurship, and prosperity.”
