Congress Lacks Issues, Government is Actively Tackling Inflation: Mahendra Bhatt

Dehradun, August 24: Mahendra Bhatt, the state president of the BJP, launched a strong attack on Congress regarding the issue of inflation. He stated that Congress has no real issues and that both the central and state governments will soon take steps to control inflation.

In a conversation, Bhatt remarked, “Congress has become a party without any issues. When they lack genuine concerns, slogans like inflation and corruption become common for opposition. I can assure you that the people of Uttarakhand understand that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, every possible effort is being made to control inflation.”

He added that when certain items become expensive, both the central and state governments work together to manage inflation.

In a related development, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy had to cancel his trip to the United States due to a lack of permission from the central government. Reddy had departed for the UK on August 20, from where he was scheduled to travel to the US.

Reacting to this, Bhatt stated, “The Chief Minister of Telangana can travel abroad, but if the trip lacks a clear agenda or issues of national importance to discuss with another country, such travel cannot be deemed appropriate. The Indian government must have provided a valid reason for denying permission. I can say that if they travel with a clear and meaningful purpose, there should be no issue. Many Chief Ministers have traveled abroad in the past. However, if the trip is merely planned as a picnic, I believe permission should not be granted.”

In response to another question, Bhatt mentioned, “The press conference on Monday was primarily organized to protest against the manner in which Congress leaders have disrespected ‘Vande Mataram.’ We consider this song a symbol of the nation’s unity and integrity. Allegations have been made that Congress disrespected this song in their state office on August 15 and decided through a resolution passed by their working committee that they would not sing it or would only sing part of it.”
