Congress Criticizes MP Government Over Chhindwara Incident

Bhopal, March 28: The Congress party continues its assault on the Madhya Pradesh government following a tragic incident in Chhindwara district. They have cited a letter from the Chief Executive Officer of the Janpad Panchayat, which instructed subordinates to gather crowds for an event.

Congress state president Jitu Patwari referenced the letter related to a beneficiary conference organized by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav in Mohkhed. He claimed that the letter mandated Panchayat secretaries and employment assistants to ensure crowd attendance via buses and arrange meals, warning of repercussions for non-compliance.

Patwari stated that the government’s directive implies that if the public does not attend, they should be forcibly brought in, or else the lower-level employees will face penalties. He accused the government of lacking ethics from day one and now showing a complete absence of sensitivity. He urged them to stop this forced crowd gathering if they have any remaining shame.

Patwari also made the letter issued by the Janpad Panchayat CEO public. It indicated that the Chief Minister would be visiting Mohkhed and that local villagers must attend the event. Vehicles would be provided, and meal arrangements would be made at the Panchayat level.

Furthermore, the letter warned of strict action against those who fail to comply with these instructions. This comes in the wake of a tragic accident on March 26, when a bus carrying attendees from the Mohkhed conference collided with a truck, resulting in ten fatalities and over twenty injuries.
