Bhopal, October 23 (Daily Kiran): On the occasion of Bhai Dooj, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will gift a special festival bonus worth ₹318 crore to the beneficiaries of the Ladli Behna Yojana. The amount will be transferred directly to the bank accounts of 1.27 crore women across the state through a single-click transaction during a programme at the Chief Minister’s residence today.

The event will feature floral welcomes for the Ladli Behna participants. Among the guests present will be Women and Child Development Minister Nirmala Bhuria, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for OBC and Minority Welfare Krishna Gaur, and BJP State President and MLA Hemant Khandelwal.
CM’s message to Ladli Behnas
In his message to the beneficiaries, Chief Minister Yadav said that Bhai Dooj represents love, affection, and responsibility in Indian culture. “This festival is not just a celebration but a commitment — where brothers pledge to protect and respect their sisters,” he said, adding that “a sister’s smile is the foundation of a prosperous society.”
Dr. Yadav drew inspiration from Lord Krishna and Subhadra’s bond, calling it a timeless example of love and protection between siblings. He said that the state government follows the same sentiment — ensuring the well-being, security, and self-reliance of every Ladli Behna in Madhya Pradesh.
Festivals reflect compassion in governance
The Chief Minister noted that under his leadership, every festival in the state has become a medium of social inclusion and positivity. “From Diwali and Raksha Bandhan to Govardhan Puja and Bhai Dooj, every celebration now reflects the government’s human touch,” he said.
Highlighting the impact of the scheme, Dr. Yadav said that the Ladli Behna Yojana has empowered women to become self-reliant, aware, and socially strong. So far, ₹44,917.92 crore has been directly transferred to the beneficiaries’ accounts, benefitting 1.27 crore women across Madhya Pradesh.
The Chief Minister also announced that, in fulfilment of his promise, the government will now provide ₹250 extra under the Ladli Behna Yojana on Bhai Dooj, raising the monthly amount to ₹1,500 per beneficiary.
