Noida, April 15: A new twist has emerged amid ongoing labor protests in Noida. The Cyber Police of Noida registered an FIR on April 14 against several individuals, including RJD spokespersons Priyanka Bharti and Dr. Kanchan Yadav, for disseminating false and inflammatory videos on various social media platforms.
The police investigation revealed that the accused shared an old video from April 11, 2026, depicting police violence in Madhya Pradesh’s Shahdol district, falsely claiming it to be from Noida. Additionally, they spread a misleading video of an arson incident in Sector 62 on the social media platform X. This orchestrated scheme aimed to instill distrust and fear among Noida’s citizens towards the administration.
According to the police, the investigation also uncovered a political angle in the case. The FIR against the two RJD national spokespersons alleges that they shared misleading videos as if they were from Noida, creating an atmosphere of fear and distrust in various areas.
Police officials stated that the posts contained deliberately provocative and misleading information intended to tarnish the police’s image and disrupt law and order. Strict action is being taken against the accused under sections 353(1)(B) of the BNS and sections 66 and 66D of the IT Act.
Previously, a chat related to the protests indicated that the strike would continue until their demands were addressed. An audio message urging a regrouping after police action has further raised concerns for the administration. The police are taking this matter seriously and are investigating the authenticity of the viral audio and chat. They are also trying to identify those behind the messages and their motives.
Officials have warned that any individual found involved in inciting activities will face stringent legal action. Meanwhile, the police have appealed to the workers to maintain peace and disregard any rumors or inflammatory messages.
The administration has stated that all issues will be resolved through dialogue, and strict measures will be taken against those attempting to disrupt law and order. Given the current situation in Noida, security measures have been tightened, with additional police forces deployed in sensitive areas to prevent any untoward incidents.
