Chirag Paswan Claims BJP Will Form Government in Bengal, Condemns Comments on Bihar Youths Murder

New Delhi, May 1: Union Minister Chirag Paswan addressed several pressing issues, including the trends in the West Bengal Assembly elections, the murder of a Bihar youth in Delhi, International Workers’ Day, and the recent rise in LPG prices. He asserted that the BJP would form the government in Bengal. Paswan condemned the remarks made by a fellow minister regarding the murder of the Bihar youth, labeling them as disgraceful.

Paswan stated that over 90% voter turnout in both phases of the West Bengal elections indicates a significant change. He claimed that a BJP-led government would emerge in Bengal after May 4. He alleged that the Trinamool Congress (TMC) is experiencing anxiety and agitation among its workers due to the anticipated defeat. He noted that protests outside strong rooms and unnecessary controversies are signs of this nervousness. Paswan accused the TMC of resorting to violence to gain power, while praising the Election Commission for effectively controlling large-scale violence this time.

Regarding the murder of a Bihar youth in Delhi, Paswan expressed strong disapproval of comments made by Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi. He stated, “Such statements are disgraceful. It is insensitive to react this way to the murder of any individual, regardless of their state, caste, religion, or language.” He emphasized the need to understand the pain of the victim’s family and criticized anyone who would add salt to their wounds.

Paswan assured that his party and the Bihar government are providing all possible assistance to the victim’s family. He mentioned that MP Rajesh Verma visited the family and provided financial aid on behalf of the party. Additionally, the Bihar government, under Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, has also extended support. He stressed that not only financial help but also ensuring justice for the family is crucial, with legal assistance being provided.

On the occasion of International Workers’ Day, Paswan paid tribute to all workers in the country. He stated that workers are the backbone of the nation’s development. He highlighted their critical role in achieving the goal of a developed India by 2047 under PM Modi‘s leadership. He acknowledged the contributions of both organized and unorganized sector workers and noted that the government has enacted several laws and decisions to protect their interests.

In response to opposition attacks regarding the rise in commercial LPG prices, Paswan explained that it is a consequence of a global crisis. He affirmed that the government has never denied challenges but criticized certain anti-social elements for spreading confusion to engage in black marketing and hoarding. He expressed confidence that global conditions would improve soon, reducing the impact on the general public.

When questioned about a recent encounter in Bihar, Paswan remarked that the opposition raises questions regardless of the situation, whether actions are taken or not. He specifically targeted the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), suggesting they should reflect on their own history before discussing selective politics. He assured that under the double-engine government, there would be no place for criminals, and law and order in Bihar would remain strong under PM Narendra Modi‘s vision.

Paswan further urged collective action against elements attempting to divide society based on caste, religion, language, and region. He appealed to the workers of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) to ensure that no poor, laborer, or marginalized group faces injustice, and to work towards building an inclusive society.
