Chinas National Railway Transports 235 Million Tons of Goods in First Seven Months of 2023

Beijing, August 20: According to the China State Railway Group, the national railway transported a total of 235 million tons of goods from January to July this year. This marks a 0.7% increase compared to the same period last year.

On average, 187,000 trains were loaded daily, reflecting a 2.1% rise from the previous year. This efficient transport system plays a crucial role in reducing logistics costs across the nation and ensures the stable operation of the national economy.

The railway department prioritizes the transportation of essential materials for the national economy and people’s livelihoods. By fully utilizing the advantages of a nationwide railway network and centralized command, they ensure rapid and efficient distribution.

Additionally, the railway sector has deepened its focus on reforms and innovations, promoting diverse transportation methods.

Furthermore, the China-Europe (Asia) freight train service has continued to operate smoothly. From January to July, 21,570 freight trains ran between China and Europe (Asia), marking a 10.3% increase compared to the same period last year.
