Chief Minister Rekha Gupta Launches Virtual Meetings Following PM Modis Call for Resource Conservation

New Delhi, May 15: In response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for energy conservation and responsible living, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has initiated a series of virtual meetings at the administrative level.

On Friday, the Chief Minister conducted a comprehensive review meeting via video conferencing from the Delhi Secretariat with the Divisional Commissioner, all District Magistrates (DMs), and senior officials from various departments. She emphasized the effective implementation of decisions made by the Delhi government.

The Chief Minister instructed officials to hold the maximum number of government meetings online to ensure savings in fuel, time, and resources. She directed all departments to take effective steps to reduce electricity consumption, adopt energy-saving measures in offices, and develop a responsible administrative work style.

Gupta urged all departments to ensure a minimum 20% reduction in fuel expenses for their vehicles. She highlighted the importance of the ‘Metro Monday’ initiative, encouraging officials and employees to use the metro and public transport at least one day a week to send a positive message to the public. Additionally, she instructed the effective implementation of a ‘No Vehicle Day’ once a week.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister also directed officials to conduct regular inspections in their areas. She emphasized the need for frequent visits to Atal Canteens, Arogya Mandirs, fire department offices, and other public service centers to ensure proper arrangements. Gupta stated that citizens should receive government services in a timely and organized manner.

While reviewing preparations for the monsoon, she instructed officials to identify flood-prone areas and take necessary actions promptly. Gupta insisted that no drains should remain open in any area and that hazardous trees should be removed immediately to prevent inconvenience during the rains. Officials were also directed to expedite work related to PNG connections and provide necessary assistance to the public.

The Chief Minister encouraged all officials to regularly share updates about their work and corrective measures through social media, ensuring transparency in government operations. She reaffirmed the Delhi government’s commitment to making Prime Minister Modi’s ‘My India, My Contribution’ campaign not just a government initiative, but a widespread movement involving public participation.
