New Delhi, 21 August (Kiran News). The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) has imposed a fine of ₹10 lakh on online company Roppen Transportation Services Private Limited (Rapido) for misleading advertisements. According to the ministry, such advertisements are often false, misleading, and unfair to consumers. The regulator has also directed Rapido to immediately stop these misleading advertisements.

According to the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, the CCPA, in its latest action to protect consumer rights, has ordered Rapido to pay a fine of ₹10 lakh for publishing misleading advertisements and engaging in unfair business practices. The CCPA has also instructed Rapido to promptly refund money to those customers who used the company’s ‘Auto in 5 minutes or get ₹50’ offer but did not receive the promised amount.
As per National Consumer Helpline (NCH) data, 575 complaints were received against Rapido between April 2023 and May 2024, and 1,224 complaints between June 2024 and July 2025. Over the past two years, there has been a rise in complaints against Rapido on the NCH. The CCPA has urged consumers to be alert against such advertisements and said that if they face issues related to misleading advertisements or unfair trade practices, they can take action by calling the National Consumer Helpline (1915) or using the NCH app or website to register complaints.
