New Delhi, June 22: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has addressed a significant concern for students following the release of Class 12 verification and re-evaluation results. For students whose marks have changed after re-evaluation and whose revised mark sheets are now available on DigiLocker, the board has confirmed that new physical mark sheets will be issued if necessary.
On Monday, CBSE clarified that the revised original mark sheets will be made available at the respective regional offices in due time. However, to obtain the new mark sheet, students must submit their old original mark sheet. Only then will the revised mark sheet be issued.
The board also emphasized that the revised mark sheet available on DigiLocker is fully valid and acceptable for all academic and admission-related purposes. Therefore, students who need their mark sheets urgently can utilize the revised mark sheet downloaded from DigiLocker.
Recently, CBSE released the results for verification and correction of errors in Class 12 evaluations. The updated results have been made available on DigiLocker, allowing students to view and download their updated mark sheets online.
Educators believe it is reassuring for students and parents that if any institution requests original documents in the future, CBSE will also provide revised physical mark sheets. Until then, the digital mark sheet from DigiLocker will be considered an official and valid document.
The board operated the application window for verification and re-evaluation for Class 12 students from June 2 to June 7. During this period, over 160,000 students submitted applications concerning more than 380,000 answer sheets. The application process was monitored by government technical agencies and expert teams from IIT.
This portal was intended for those Class 12 students who were dissatisfied with their exam results and wanted their answer sheets rechecked. According to the deadline set by CBSE, Sunday was the last date for this process. The final time for submitting applications for verification and re-evaluation of answer sheets was 11:59 PM on June 7.
