Nanded, May 17: The investigation into the NEET paper leak case has reached Nanded district in Maharashtra. A team from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conducted a surprise raid as part of its ongoing crackdown on the alleged examination scam.
Officials reported that the agency spent over eight hours conducting a thorough search and verification operation at the home of the Kadam family. They are accused of purchasing the leaked NEET exam paper for 500,000 rupees for their daughter.
According to reports, the CBI team arrived in Nanded after questioning a driver linked to a coaching institute in Latur. Investigators are trying to trace the network believed to be involved in the paper leak conspiracy.
The CBI team raided the flat of Ashwini Bhau Rao Kadam in the Vidyut Nagar area early Saturday morning. During the extensive operation, officials meticulously examined documents and other items found in the home.
Investigators suspect that the family allegedly obtained the leaked NEET paper in exchange for 500,000 rupees. Sources claim that during her preparation in Nanded, the student was scoring only between 100 and 120 marks in practice tests and assessments. However, her score in the actual NEET exam reportedly surged to around 560, raising suspicions among officials investigating the paper leak racket.
In another significant development, a separate CBI team visited an office linked to the accused Shubham Khairnar in Nanded on Sunday and conducted a search as part of the ongoing investigation.
The investigation team also visited the Khairnar family’s residence in Vidyut Nagar and questioned several family members about their alleged connections to the paper leak network. Officials suspect that the family may have paid a substantial amount to acquire the NEET exam paper.
This latest search in Nanded coincides with the CBI’s intensified nationwide investigation into the NEET paper leak case. The issue has sparked considerable controversy, especially after allegations surfaced that several questions from the exam were leaked to candidates before the test. Investigators are now examining financial transactions, connections to coaching institutes, and the roles of intermediaries believed to have facilitated the paper leak across multiple districts and states.
