Washington, August 13: Carolyn Levitt, the Press Secretary for former President Donald Trump, has announced her resignation from the position. She cited her responsibilities as a mother as the primary reason for her departure. Levitt stated that she is leaving the White House to dedicate more time to her family and two young children. However, she clarified that she will continue to serve as a key advisor to Trump from outside the White House and will maintain her support for the Republican Party.
In a post on the social media platform X, Levitt expressed, “Serving as White House Press Secretary for the past year and a half has been the greatest honor and most memorable experience of my life. I am immensely grateful to President Trump for giving me such extraordinary opportunities. I had the chance to work in the West Wing, spend countless hours in the Oval Office, travel the world, meet foreign leaders, and connect with Americans from all walks of life across our beautiful country.”
Levitt continued, “Above all, I am thankful to the President for entrusting me with the responsibility and honor of speaking on his behalf from the White House podium. I have always taken pride in discussing this administration’s many historic achievements. I also found satisfaction in ensuring that the media remained accountable and that the American people received truthful information about President Trump’s successes.”
She shared that being a mother while welcoming a new child and managing one of the most challenging jobs in the world has been both the most rewarding and the most difficult time of her life. “To be honest, after the birth of my daughter, when I returned to the White House, I felt deeply that the role of White House Press Secretary demands so much time, energy, and attention that I was unable to be the mother my two young children deserve. That is why I have made the difficult decision to leave the White House and begin a new chapter in my life.”
Levitt mentioned that President Trump has encouraged her to continue working as a key advisor from outside. “I will always be a vocal supporter of the MAGA movement and the Republican Party,” she affirmed.
She expressed her concerns about the challenges facing the country, stating, “In my opinion, our nation is facing a serious challenge from the increasingly radical trends of the Democratic Party. I believe it is the responsibility of all who care about this country to confront this challenge. My fight is entering a new phase, but it is not over yet.”
Levitt concluded by thanking the President, the First Lady, and the entire Trump family for their years of kindness and generosity. She also expressed gratitude to Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, who believed in her from day one of the campaign, as well as to the President’s cabinet, her staff, colleagues, and all friends at the White House who work tirelessly for the country. “It has been an honor to work with such talented and dedicated individuals, and I look forward to witnessing their successes in the coming years.”
